In seven days the Claude Community House opens in Barcelona. This issue does three things: it explains what the House is, it opens the notebook on how a very small team built it with Claude, and it lists what broke along the way. Take whatever is useful. It works for an event, a launch, or any project with too many moving parts. $ house --status days_left7sessions37 inside + 4 rooftop nightsambassadors15, from 9 citiesregistrations1,300+ and climbingcustom_claudes138 (see below)humans_in_the_corea handfulsleepdeprecated First, if you missed it What is the Claude Community House? A whole building in Barcelona, for four days, given to the people who use Claude. Developers and founders, but also marketers, HR and comms teams, musicians, video makers, and people who opened Claude for the first time last month. The sessions are run by members of the community, for the community: clinics where you bring a stuck project, hands-on workshops, talks, and a few things with no screen at all. WHENMonday 21 to Thursday 24 September. Sessions all day, rooftop every evening. WHEREB@B, Carrer de Bilbao 128, Poblenou. Rooms, an auditorium, and a rooftop on the 7th floor. WHO RUNS ITThe Tech Nation and the Claude ambassadors network, co-hosted with Olivier Legris and Matt Roberts. Fifteen ambassadors from nine European cities. Supported by Anthropic's community team. WHAT IT COSTSEvery session inside is free. The rooftop afterwork is 20 € a night, or 70 € for the four. HOW TO GET INEach session has its own registration page, and registering for one does not register you for the week. Pick them one by one on claudebcn.com/planning. Pick your sessions → The House was organised the same way we teach companies to work with AI. So instead of telling you it works, here is exactly how it was done. The playbook · steal it Four practices, from the week before 2,000 people show up. None of them needs a developer. All of them work in Claude, with a project and a few files. 01 · one file tells the truth Give the project a single source of truth, and make every agent read it first. The same model is a confused intern or a sharp chief of staff depending on what it reads before answering. For the House, everything lives in one markdown file: the venue, the people, the money, the rules, and a dated log. Every task starts with "read the file". Nobody re-explains the context, ever, and a new person (or a new agent) is up to speed in five minutes. event.md ## facts dates, rooms, capacities, prices ## people who decides what, who to ask for what ## money sponsors, and what we owe each one ## rules what never happens ## log dated decisions, with the reason try it: paste this skeleton, fill it for 20 minutes. Where it lives: in Claude, create a Project and add the file to its knowledge. In Claude Code, name it CLAUDE.md at the root of your folder. Either way, it is read before every answer. 02 · decisions come with a why Write down every decision with its reason, or the model will reopen it. A model that does not know why something was decided will helpfully suggest the option you rejected last week. One dated line fixes it. Real example from the log: "03/09 · every request to the venue goes through one single email thread, as a numbered list · why: four different people manage the building, and each one needs to see the whole picture." From then on, no agent opens a new thread. format: date · what changed · why 03 · the agent drafts, a human sends Automate the volume, keep the send button. When three sessions filled up on a Friday night, hundreds of people were stuck on waitlists. Claude matched each person to a session with room that fit what they had asked for, and drafted 107 personal invitations. A human read them and approved. Same evening. The rule behind it sits in the file: nothing is sent before someone has read the final text. Speed comes from the drafting. Trust comes from the reading. pattern: draft → show → stop → human says go 04 · ask for a generator When you need fifty of something, ask Claude for the machine that makes them. The House needed room plates, arrows, flags, a photocall, and 91 posters. Asking for 91 files means 91 things to fix when a detail changes. Asking for a small script that reads a list and produces every file at the printer's exact dimensions means one fix, and everything is regenerated in a minute. The posters in this issue came out of it. You do not need to read the script. You need to describe the list and the output, and to check the first result. prompt: "write a script that builds all of these from this list" bonus · make the marketing a toy People share what they play with, and they ignore ads. Custom Claude lets you dress up your own pixel Claude, download it, and it takes a number on a public wall. Idea in the morning, live the next day, built with Claude Code. The launch post passed 9,000 views, and people posted their own crabs the same day without being asked. A few of the 138: Yours takes 40 seconds: claudebcn.com/custom What broke · so it does not break for you Three mistakes, and the rule each one left behind. Twelve print files at the wrong size. The supplier's quote sat in the inbox, read as a price. It also contained the exact dimensions of every frame. The files were designed without them, and twelve went to the printer before anyone noticed.rule → a quote is a spec. its constraints go into the file before anything is produced. The same session, published twice.A session was created again from an old draft, ten minutes after the real one. Five people signed up on the wrong page.rule → agents create things fast. check what already exists before creating anything. A tool that said "done" and did nothing. An email connector returned "draft created", three times in a row. There was no draft.rule → trust the result, never the success message. read it back. Notice the pattern: none of these is a model problem. Each one is missing context or a missing check. That is good news, because both are fixable in a text file. And the relationships behind the House (the owner who lent the building, the ambassadors, the sponsors who bet on a first edition) were built the slow way, over coffees and phone calls. That part stays human. Want to see the method live? The second brain session on Wednesday covers exactly this. It is full, but the waitlist moves.
